Other Wedding Tradition

Bowls of Rice Balls

Eating of rice balls, or tang yuan, is a common tradition that happens on the Wedding Day. The newlywed will sit down on their matrimonial bed as 2 bowls of rice balls are handed to them. It symbolises reunion and blessings for the couple.
The pair of bowlset being used is traditionally prepared in the Bride's dowry. You may view our Bowlsets collection here

Jiu Zi Basket (Ah Gu)

Traditionally, the Bride's family will prepare a basket of baby oil and make-up items, Jiu Zi Basket (Ah Gu), and have the younger brother to follow the couple as they go over to the Groom's place for Tea Ceremony. The Jiu Zi Basket will be handed to the Bride for her to remember to head home often and visit her family.

Red Door Banner Hung with Double Happiness Decoration

Bright auspicious red will be decorated all over the homes of both families as they celebrate the joyous occassion together. Red door banner is hung up high on top of the main door to bring in good opportunities and Double Happiness decorations are pasted everywhere. It will look good in the wedding montage as the photographer and videographer follow the couple to houses.

We have a whole range of Door Banner and Door & Wall Decorations for you to choose from.

Our Needlebox Set

Traditionally, a sewing machine is included in the Bride's dowry to symbolise her good virtues as a wife and daughter. As we progress in the modern times, a needlebox set is used instead with basic sewing materials.

Our Needlebox Set is included in the Dowry Package, or you can also get it ala-carte here
